The standout dish here? For many, it’s the Espetadas, grilled to smoky perfection on skewers – tender and bursting with flavor. Diners rave about the classic Bolo do Caco, a Must-try bread that pairs perfectly with the hearty dishes.

Another crowd-pleaser is the vibrant atmosphere, enhanced by friendly staff who offer attentive service. Patrons feel a genuine sense of welcome, elevating the dining experience beyond the plate. The cozy decor creates an inviting setting, ideal for any occasion, be it a casual lunch or a celebratory dinner.

Many also appreciate the generous portion sizes. Staying true to its roots, Madeira’s offers hearty servings that guarantee satisfaction without breaking the bank. Dining here also features delightful surprises like live music, making each visit an engaging experience.

Most Disliked

While Madeira's Restaurant charms many, some diners have expressed the wish for more variety. A common request includes the addition of Milho Frito, a staple from Madeira that many patrons long for. Though the menu celebrates traditional dishes, diners sometimes feel it could be more expansive.

Another point of contention is peak times. The restaurant can get quite busy, especially on Saturday evenings, leading to longer wait times for food and seating. Although the staff works hard to ensure prompt service, peak hours can mean a less intimate experience, which may be overlooked by those craving a quiet meal.

Additionally, while most dishes garner praise, a few have received mixed reviews regarding seasoning levels, suggesting that taste preferences vary widely among guests.

What a little gem of a restaurant. Wonderful food. I had the dorado or in the uk known as sea bream. Beautifully cooked. Delicious! I will definitely go back again when in Northampton. Thank you.

Love this place. Been twice now and it really reminds us of being home in Madeira. Great atmosphere, the staff are super accommodating and friendly. Service is timed well. Good traditional menu with a few other bits thrown in. Would like to see Milho Frito on the menu as its such a staple in Madeira, but the espetada and bolo do caco are delicious and authentic. Food is delicious, great portions. We had three courses, including two desserts and loads of alcohol and it was only about £48 per person, which is decent. We will definitely be back a third time and many more.

An Authentic Taste of Madeira with Unforgettable Charm From the moment you step through the door at Madeira's Restaurante, you are transported to a world of warm hospitality and authentic flavours. While the exterior might be unassuming, it hides a truly magical dining experience within. The decor is simply beautiful, creating an inviting and relaxed atmosphere that is both charming and authentically Portuguese. The warm lighting and thoughtful decorative touches make it the perfect setting for everything from a romantic dinner to a celebratory family meal. The service is, without a doubt, some of the best in Northampton. The staff are incredibly welcoming, attentive, and genuinely friendly, making you feel like a valued guest from start to finish. Their passion for the food and culture is evident and only enhances the overall experience. But the star of the show is the food, particularly the meat. The quality is exceptional. I had the Espetada, a traditional dish of skewered meat, and it was cooked to absolute perfection – tender, succulent, and bursting with flavour. The portions are generous, ensuring you leave feeling completely satisfied. Every dish that came to our table was a testament to high-quality ingredients and traditional culinary skill. Madeira's Restaurante is a true gem in Northampton. If you are looking for outstanding food, impeccable service, and a wonderfully atmospheric setting, you simply must pay them a visit. It’s a five-star experience that I cannot recommend highly enough. We are already planning our next visit!

From start to finish, everything felt perfect. The waiter was kind, the food was served quickly, and every bite of my mushroom risotto was heavenly. The flavors were rich but balanced, and the texture was creamy without being heavy.

An absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the beautiful décor captured the essence of Madeira Island. The owners/staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel like part of the family. The food was authentic, fresh, and bursting with flavour, especially the **beef espetada**—tender, perfectly seasoned, and the closest thing to what you'd find on the island. Hands down, the best one I've had in the UK in the past ten years! The menu is fairly priced, and the portions are generous, leaving you completely satisfied. The relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to unwind. Highly recommend for anyone craving an authentic taste of Madeira with top-notch service! See you soon!
